Dr. Aundrea Matthews is a critical thinker with 10 plus years of experience as a Program Developer and Coordinator, Educator, Event Planner, Researcher, and Business Advocate, And,,,the granddaughter of the late Sergeant Sanders Matthews (World War II Buffalo Soldier) that served at the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York. Dr. Matthews serves as the President of the Buffalo Soldiers Association of West Point, Inc, a not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to preserving the legacy of the 9th & amp;10 Cavalry Buffalo Soldiers in New York, and beyond. Under her leadership, the Association has donated and erected a Buffalo Soldiers Monument in the likeness of her grandfather at the United States Military Academy in 2021.
Culture and diversity has been at the forefront of Dr. Matthews career. She received her M. A.in Religious Studies and a Doctor of Philosophy with a concentration in African American Religious Studies from Rice University, a B.S. in Criminal Justice and a M.A. in Liberal Arts from Texas Christian University, a MTS from Brite Divinity School in Fort Worth, Texas.
Aundrea has participated in study aboard programs in Africa (Ghana, Senegal, Gambia, and Egypt), Europe (Spain, England, and France), and has done ethnographic research across the United States, with a particular focus on the Southern region. Her professional experience and educational interests allow her to offer cultural insights, effective marketing concepts,
Dr. Matthews has worked with local and nationally acclaimed scholars, artists, political and religious leaders, professional athletes, and community activists to create educational and community outreach strategies that have made a positive social impact across the United States.
Aundreas credentials are lengthy and noteworthy, however her tireless work for diversity includes:
